Denise Page

Denise is a mother of two, an activist, and an artist. She likes fighting for kids and their right to be who they want. Born and raised in Chapel Hill, she’s been there all her life. Her momma and grandma were always activists in the community. She remembers being on the frontlines when the housekeepers were fighting for better pay and when folks were fighting for better housing at HUD. Advocating and organizing for change is second nature to her. Her momma and grandmama are her models, having taught her to stand up for what’s right. She’s also a nurturer and motivator because this work gets hard. She’s a bigger-picture type of person, and she won’t let good people quit.

Dream for Black Children

“My Dream for Black children is to be exactly who they are without judgment from people who don’t look like them. That they live as freely as other people’s children. I dream that our black children have their Innocence back because they’re just children like everyone else.”
