Leah Adeniji 

Leah Adeniji is a dynamic leader, certified life coach, and passionate advocate for DEIB, BIPOC communities, and youth of color. With over 20 years of experience spanning higher education, non-profits, and industry, Leah brings a wealth of expertise to her current role as Deputy Director for EMPOWERment Inc.

Born in Chicago to a Nigerian father and American mother, Leah’s multicultural background and the challenges she faced growing up have shaped her inclusive approach to leadership and her commitment to empowering underserved communities. She holds an MBA in Human Resources, an MS in Management, and a BS in Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, as well as certifications as a Global Career Development Facilitator and MBTI practitioner.


Throughout her career, Leah demonstrated a steadfast dedication to uplifting youth and women. Her journey includes roles in career development, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and student services across various prestigious institutions. In the past, Leah served as Chair of Women in the NAACP, and as a current Board Member of Hope Renovations, she contributes to empowering women and gender-inclusive individuals through job training programs in construction and trades.


Leah’s passion for service extends beyond her professional life. She is a Board Member for Village of Wisdom, a volunteer for the National Black MBA Association’s University Relations Committee, and has served on numerous committees focused on diversity and student success. Her commitment to mentoring began at age 19 and continues to be a cornerstone of her personal mission. She believes everyone is born to be a blessing and that investing in people is the greatest contribution one can make in life. With her unique blend of professional acumen, personal warmth, and unwavering commitment to service, Leah continues to inspire and empower individuals to reach their full potential while working to build stronger, more inclusive communities.
