Samuel Ma'at | Village of Wisdom

Samuel Ma’at, aka Baba Sam or Baba Bear, is one of Village of Wisdom’s OG parents, serving as a parent leader and group facilitator. A husband and father of 4 Black Geniuses, Samuel is a homeschooler, translator by trade, Black conscious individual, and autodidact. He has collaborated with Village of Wisdom on several projects, including the Back to School video and the creation of the Keep Dreaming Toolkit. Samuel is also part of the Design Team for the “Blackprint for Black Genius” resource library and has helped usher in The Dreamship program.

Dream for Black Children

“My dream is to establish institutions for our Black children where they develop into their fullest capacities mentally, physically, socially, emotionally, and culturally. I dream they come to know their heritage and legacy and our power.”
