Ruben’s multifaceted talents extend far beyond his sphere. As an accomplished educator and literary luminary, he has penned two captivating best-selling children’s books: Friendly Skies and Sunny Days and Where is My Grandpa? His impact echoes through his involvement in conducting enlightening workshops on African American child development and parenting.
Community engagement courses through Ruben’s veins. He is a mentor and co-chair of the 100 Black Men of Triangle East’s Collegiate 100 Committee. Ruben also organizes transformative health, wellness, and literacy events for young men from grades 6 to college, shaping the next generation.
Dream for Black Children
“My dream for Black children is for them to dream their own dreams and be who the most high created them to be, not who their parents or society tell them to be. I hope all Black children learn to dream in color, not just white/American. Our children need to be connected to their vibrant pan-African lineage.”
