Rashida James-Saadiya began as a volunteer and is now a Village of Wisdom board member. She is a cultural organizer, cheerleader for all things Black, and independent scholar who uses Africanfuturism and restorative justice as a lens to explore Black women’s contemporary and historical experiences in America. Her latest project, “Betraying the Spectacle,” explores the constructs of race and the role of cultural memory and placemaking amongst Black Muslim women in the American South.
